My muse models modestly while meditating on
a myriad of migrating mermaids.
This painting began as a simple seated
nude. However, Art Jonker was at that time just gaining
confidence with the human form. He became impatient,
however with working from a model, and couldn't resist filling
the sky with mermaids of every sort and point of view.
The painting is a combination of styles as well,
combining detail with thick loose brushwork.
